Any jobs going at the Marcus Evans Group? on 12:30 - Jan 27 with 783 views | TieDyedIn95 | Well it depends - your making the assumption that the results are a priority for Evans, and not just having someone there to simply run the football element in which case Lambert is doing that. Who's to say aside from a bonus there is any pressure on Lambert to win anything here? Remember what Didz said when he left here, he joined newly promoted Sheffield United and that was like a breath of fresh air to him because they were demanding success from the team/manager, which wasn't the case at Ipswich. Look it up. I don't know if anyone has bothered reading anything Evans has put out over the past 5 years or so, but it's essentially stating that he's going to make the club pay for itself and work financially. He's waiting for football to become more ethical before he's willing to invest any more in it. He and his mouthpieces have more or less stated all of this. Anyone who thought Lambert was getting sacked this week regardless of results clearly hasn't kept up with the information Evans has filtered out. [Post edited 27 Jan 2021 12:31]

There will always be 6-8k people willing to go, which is still better than most in the bottom tiers of English football. Once the wage bill is reduced to accommodate that, along with other cuts he'll be able to make it pay for itself give or take so long as he doesn't overspend... ha I am shocked we were so well backed after we sank like a stone from the Championship. When your owner hires your rivals ex-manager and only stumps up for the likes of Colin Quaner in what should have been the battle of the century for this club you know he clearly can't give a toss what level we are at. | |
