Cricket Day 5 04:53 - Feb 9 with 4161 views | gainsboroughblue | Well. Given how I'm known as the cricketing jinx of the board. I'm proud that the first ball I watch on turning on the telly, is seeing Jimmy absolutely castle Gill to take India's third wicket. Jaffa. 92-3.

That lbw not out just looked plumb to my naked eye. What a legend Anderson is. How the hell do we replace him?

At the moment, we can't replace him. So I'm firmly in the camp of let him play until he physically can't do it anymore and just enjoy everything he does...

Same, thought when it was not given he must have got an edge on it. Hoping he stays fit for next winter.

Cricket Day 5 on 06:10 - Feb 9 with 2778 views | SuffolkPOSH | Last night I thought if we could get 3 wickets in the morning session we would be in a great position so when I woke up @ 5am I was delighted to see they were 4 down. To finish with 6 wickets down is amazing stuff & to think yesterday we were all criticising Root for his decisions. I guess we should have greater faith & leave it to the professionals.
Cricket Day 5 on 06:55 - Feb 9 with 2738 views | Steve_M | Glad England have left some wickets for those of us who aren't doing to get up at 4:30. I did think about it last night though! Delighted with that score, there was always a chance that India would dig in and make it difficult. It's still not won yet but once this partnership is broken there isn't too much left. 153/6.

Morning Steve. Couldn't have gone much better. I think the plan is to rotate Anderson and Broad but don't think I could bear to be Jimmy-less in the next test after this.

Broad always seems one of those characters who likes to show his worth and will no doubt be motivated by Anderson’s performance in this test, he’ll want to match or better it. It’s like they inspire each other. [Post edited 9 Feb 2021 7:20]

Then again look how Broad came back last time he was rested! I think the decisions on rotation in general are right because of the heavy schedule of Tests this year and the number of players who need matches to try to establish themselves as Test players. It might mean England not quite being as strong in every match though. Jimmy is just a joy to watch at the moment, something enhanced by knowing that there aren't going to be too many more matches for him. To think as well that before he properly established in the Test side, after the Wellington Test in 2008*, it took five years from is debut. Partly the competition but also that daft spell when England tried to remodel his action. * I know it was that one because I was there, Tim Ambrose's solitary and then NZ bowled out within a day two, Jimmy's ball to get Matthew Bell before lunch was beautiful.

And another, good catch again by Buttler. His keeping has come on so much in recent times, has been pretty much faultless for 3 test matches in the toughest of conditions. Shame he's going home but to have an even better gloveman to come in would be the envy of every other country in the world.

Yep, Billings is a cracking keeper/bat who'd get in a few test teams including Australia... 4th choice.
