It's context. Most people saying "our country" is very different to someone on the extremes saying "our country".

I don’t really agree here.
Don’t get me wrong, Grimes absolutely could think that and he’s functionally a racist in how he elevates the cultural wars and punitive politics that serve a pretty far-right agenda.
But in this situation he also uses “they” for the left. So not sure “our” works on ethnic grounds.
It’s nowhere near as bad a leap, and Grimes is definitely an enemy of minorities but feels a bit like the willfully misinterpreted “English irony” comment against Corbyn. |  |
