One for the cyclists on 19:01 - Mar 28 with 730 views | TractorWood | I cycled back from Norfolk and had to get the chain ferry at Reedham. Was satisfying to whizz past the huge queue of cars and jump on straight away and hand the guy 50p for the fare.

Some more up to date stats for you. In 2019: 50% of cars exceeded the speed limit on motorways 54% of cars exceeded the speed limit on 30mph roads In othe news, https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/crime/driver-failed-to-stop-after-fatal-crash-78536 That is a stretch of road I cycled along as a youth and my septegenarian father still uses. Hopefully he will be seen as a person on a bike, rather than a member of group labelled cyclist, that can be tut’ed at.

I think it's fair to say there's a selection of tw@ts on the road using varied methods of transport. As for your dad, bless him, that made me think of the old gent cyclist public information film. Whatever happened to those? I saw a piece online a few weeks ago where two young girls had to be rescued from a river because they walked on it thinking it was safe to do so what with it being iced over. One of the kids went through the ice but thankfully there was a dog walker who spotted them. So anyways, when I was a kid it was normal to see these appear on the TV warning about road dangers, deep water, railways...
