At Hatfield Peverel carnival in the early 80's, I once went on a float as Dougal out of the Magic Roundabout, courtesy of bits of brown string glued with Copydex to a big brown sheet of paper and me riding a skateboard on all fours tied with our dog's lead to the back of the lorry cab.
My mask fell off about ten minutes in and got run over by one of the trucks following so it did look a bit odd until my mum nipped back with one she'd made as a spare. |  |
