The band have just announced this on their facebook page.
I'm sure I'm not the only ZZ Top fan on here - Dusty (and Billy Gibbons) had possibly the most iconic beards in music history, as well as making amazing rock music over a number of decades.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
A real shame, never got the chance to see them unfortunately. Been the same three guys in the band for how many years? Billy and Frank must be devastated.

I saw them a couple of times in the 80's, would never describe myself as a fan really but liked their stuff. The first time they blew me away, incredibly tight and just generated a fantastic noise, I had to see them again when the opportunity came up.
Very sad news, they were a great band and made some iconic singles.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Saw their hats live once.
It was a very low stage and we were at the back of a standing crowd. All we could see were furry stetsons moving around. But they were very good.
Very sad news. One of my favourite bands to mess about on the drums to. The Netflix documentary on them is very good. The BBC just reported his death but showed footage of Billy... RIP
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
