It does seem so. Nobody seems to have any urgency to take the bold strokes required to combat this. As harrowing as the reports were on last night's news on BBC and ITV, it feels like we're split between those that don't believe it, and the rest of us that do but aren't doing enough to change things. I definitely include myself in that because I know that for all the steps I take, if I really want to be part of the solution I need to change to a plant-based diet, replace my car with an electric, get solar panels fitted etc. etc. etc. We've all got to make big sacrifices and time is running out. Leaving it to Jo public is a recipe for failure imho. Why the banning of petrol vehicles was so important - forced the manufacturers hand in investing in EVs and their development.
Need similar approach to travel, diets, heating, power gen etc. Jo public will opt for cheapest rather than greenest options 95% of the time which won't cut it... | |

Yeah it's got to come from above to be consistently applied en masse absolutely. It wouldn't hurt any of us to take some initiative as well though, in fact it could help to apply some more pressure on the situation. Not sure though, governments should have taken robust action long ago so I don't have much confidence that they'll do the necessary now when things are already starting to get out of hand. | |

Thing is we will still have petrol and diesel well past 2030 as it’s not an outright immediate ban in 2030, can we really afford to do this? More needs to be done to get everyone in an EV before 2030 in my opinion. |  | | |
