Need time to GEL ! What a load of bol-ocks. Woolfenden losing his footing, 25 attempts with no goals, Fraser missing from the spot after scoring 9 pens on the spin for MK Dons, Bonne not nodding the ball into an empty net - NOTHING to do with "gelling". Purely down to good old Ipswich Town lack of BOTTLE.

We're not playing very well though, which suggests they do need time to gel. Individual mistakes are costing us too, which is making things worse.

What specifically is it about Ipswich that makes Fraser miss a penalty when he's previously been so reliable? I'm curious as to what it is you think happens that makes previously decent, reliable players lose their bottle when they come to Town.

Easy answer - because it's Ipswich Town - serial bottlers since about 2003

So what is it at the club that makes players who weren't previously bottlers suddenly start bottling it when they join? You've not really explained that. You've just repeated that we're bottlers, but the players who were bottlers in 2003 are all in their 40s and 50s now and we've got 16 new players who, as far as I'm aware, haven't had prior bottling issues.

Teams miss easy chances all the time, so it's not just that. Issue is the quality of the chances at times.

We've also had a selection of different managers in that time and three sets of owners. There is simply no continuity to base such a thesis on.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Indeed. Unless there genuinely is some kind of mystical force behind it all it's very hard to see why us as a club would have such ingrained issues of lacking bottle when we've undergone such changes in personnel.
