The Killing Fields. 23:24 - Dec 30 with 1073 viewsStochesStotasBlewe

Not seen it in for years so watched it again this evening.
What a truly wonderful film. So very sad and uplifting in equal measure.

Been on the bucket list to go to Cambodia and, feck it, i'm going to go when travel opens up again.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I still have it on DVD somewhere.

I have only seen it twice and it broke my heart both times.

I know what you mean.
Was very dusty here at the end.

It is a difficult watch but it’s one of the best, most powerful and thought provoking films I’ve ever seen.

Angkor Wat is fabulous.

Make sure you have 3 or 4 days to explore the entire site, so many amazing temples on the outskirts far away from the crowds.

If you make it to Phnom Penh I strongly recommend a visit to The Foreign Correspondence Club a great bar overlooking the river, brilliant for watching the world go by.I see from their website they are presently undergoing a refurb.- just hope they don’t spoil the character.

There is also a FCC in Siem Reap which is superb and also overlooking a river.

I had a number of great/crazy nights in the FCC.

Second this.

Both incredible places in their own way.
It still saddens me to this day that no one ever saw justice for the genocide.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.
