3 unmarked at the back post for the goal... 21:08 - Apr 2 with 902 viewsboroughblue

Said it to the Mrs before the free kick was taken, and I've been muttering it ever since...

Oh well, beaten by a team who had a solid game plan against us today and it was the first time under McKenna we looked like we had no answers. This our short coming in the final 3rd were really highlighted today.

Attacking set pieces is something we need to improve on. Every team will sometimes conceded and mistakes are made for goals conceded. If we find ourselves repeatedly conceding from poor marking there is an issue. Once in a while happens.

Silly free kick to give away in the first place, player was facing away from goal no danger, the Wolf didn't need to try that tackle from behind he just had to make sure the player didn't turn.
Giving away the free kick there turned a non dangerous situation into a dangerous situation.

It is probably totally inconsequential, but their player scuffed up the very feint line the ref made and moved the ball a foot forward. The line was fading anyway because of how long it took them to take it. I knew they would score when he did that.

Didn’t they do that before every free kick though?

Something strange about todays set pieces which I've no idea from memory if it's something that KM has done in all games. But we only had a handful of players in the box when we had our corners. Has that been the case or was it just different today?
