Wait. What? on 23:30 - May 18 with 1187 views | ZXBlue | The reports on this a while back, seemed to suggest it was about educating and being open with children of appropriate age about issues they need to know, in a creative way. I have not seen it, so do not know. But we play into the hands of the right when we applaud anythign like this without seeking to understand it first.

Good spot. It’s been cancelled nationally. Beeb article here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-61149449.amp Artist information here - https://tobaccofactorytheatres.com/shows/the-family-sex-show/ It sounds like an educational performance aimed at exploring taboos and addressing serious issues around consent (i.e. highlighting wrongness and improving safeguarding). It was to be supported by safeguarding specialists too. So an opportunity wasted to inform and challenge, just because some frumpy Victorian types are still embarrassed by the wholly natural phenomenon of nudity and would rather sweep topics like rape under the carpet rather than tackle them head on. It may well have been over the line for many. It may have been innappropriate. I dont know. Importantly, neither do most of the people who have achieved a ban....

I seem to recall that P.I.E. similarly tried to legitimise themselves by opening a discussion.

Wow! That's quire the smear. Tell me, how would you talk to young children about consent? Or, at what age would you think it appropriate to begin that conversation? Because I see that, done appropriately, as being a very basic first step in safeguarding and child protection. I'm not able to comment on the merits of this particular play/educational theatre piece, as I don't know how they would have dealt with it.
