Continuing the theme of what Town need to achieve compared to last season if we are to get promotion. An additional 22 points compared to last term would get us from 70 to 92, which should guarantee a top two position.

Replacing last seasons L1 1st (Wigan) 2nd (Rotherham) and promoted (Sunderland) with 20-22 in the
Championship, Pboro, Derby, and Barnsley respectively and doing the same with L1 relegated sides based on finishing position (FGR replace Gillingham, Exeter for Doncaster, Bristol R for AFCW and Port Vale for Crewe) you can track progress to those additional 22 points.

So far
Bolton H DvL +1 point
FGR A WvW (Gills) u/c
MKD H WvD +2 points
Burton A WvL +3 points
Shrews A WvD +2 points

So a good start.

Up next:
Barnsley H (Sunderland) D
Accrington A L
Cambridge H L

So plenty of opportunities to make further progress to the 92.

We want to get as far ahead of the curve as possible in the first half of the season, in case we can't quite match the tempo of Christmas to the end of March last time. Whatever anybody might say, I prefer to make the running from the front than having to play catch-up towards the end.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Or, to put it another way, more than three times as many points as we had this time last season.

Finishing in the top 6 would be an improvement, but it wouldnt be good enough. Its a travesty that we ended up in this division. I hate every minute of it.

Completely agree.

Points in the bag are worth their weight in gold at this stage of the season.

At the moment we are playing on good surfaces which suits our game, a ploughed field on a wet night in January not so much!

I was wondering when you'd show up again, budgie boy.
You must be gutted that we're sitting top of the table. unbeaten in 5.
