Yes! I might just get home after swim training. Any chance a few more of you could go and clog up the streets? 8.15 would be even better for me.

Another 15 minutes of a xylophone and "Please stay tuned, your commentary match will start soon". Isn't there a petition we can sign?
And crap ads.

Do they run swimming on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings just to spite you or something?!

7 days a week buh! 3 of those early morning and night.

(Tip for new parents - better risk drowning than teaching them to swim!)

It's good to make sure kids can swim competently, damn right.

But at 7 days per week I'm assuming this is more than that. Do they both compete or something?

Yeah, both in a club, eldest trying to push on beyond national level competition (but struggling!). It’s a bit time intensive. I’m contracted fewer hours in work than their training time (incl travel).

But yes, absolutely good to teach kids to swim. So no regrets really.

We had to make do with a freezing cold, leaf covered outdoor school pool.

And a scary public information film to force us to use it!

We had to make do with water-filled potholes in t'road.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Felixstowe.

We had the sea so didn't warrant a pool.

No.
I could swim but chose not to.
There were turds floating in the sea - even then (1968).

We had to wrestle with what to do with my daughter (she was involved totally in decisions) and her swimming.
The National team were very interested in her but it was so full on and our own complicated family situation would have had a major impact on her life outside of the pool .... Then Covid came and took away the option/choice anyway.
