TWTD advice Mac and Outlook on 14:55 - Oct 25 with 847 views | Deano69 | There are some changes to the way MS 365 delivers email (now called Modern Authentication). Older equipment/Applications/Smartphones are going to be affected if not already. This is what we have been advising (which may have nothing to do with your situation at all, but worth a check): In summary, the following devices are compatible - Microsoft Office/Outlook - 2016 or above (there is a registry key workaround for Windows based Office 2013, but is at your own risk) - Windows Mail - Windows 10 or above - Office/Outlook on Apple Mobile — requires iOS 12 or above - Office for Android Mobile/Tablet - KitKat 4.4 or later version and have an ARM-based or Intel x86 processor - Apple mail App - iOS 12 or above (may require the deletion and adding back in of the email account) - Mac Mail — macOS 10.14 and above - Thunderbird — version 78+ - Android Mail App is not going to be supported or updated you will have to install the Office applications or Gmail App Webmail Access is unaffected. All recent Internet Browsers (e.g. Microsoft Edge, Chrome) will give full access to your email, calendar and contacts by logging on at https://outlook.office365.com These are the currently listed compatible Browsers: - Windows 11: The new Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome - Windows 10: The new Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Legacy, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome - Windows 8.1 or 7 (SP1): The new Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Chrome - Mac OS X (10.10 and later): The new Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari 10+ or Chrome - Linux: Office for the web works in the new Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Chrome on Linux, but some features may not be available. Loads more technical details available on this if needed. Or it might just need the username and password re-entering!!! Who knows with a MAC

Thanks, I'll pass this over to the office nerd. He keeps advising me to change to apple based mail but I have always used outlook. This has been going on for about three weeks now In summary - is it the Mac that is the issue rather than outlook because it's my Mac and I use the oldest one in the office, It's 2107 version. Outlook is version 16.66

I'm running a Late 2012 version here and it still flies along, so it unlikely to be the age of the machine. I'm running and Exchange/Office 365 account on the Outlook app (16.66.1) and it's fine. Sounds like you need a nerd. [Post edited 25 Oct 2022 16:32]

*Puts on coat* *Takes two steps towards door* *Stops, and half turns back* *Pauses, thinks* *Columbo voice on* "Oh, just one other thing. Maybe you should investigate the possibility that "the office nerd" has changed something deep in Settings so that it appears broken so that you *have to* "change to apple based mail".
