Keogh on for Six minutes.. 22:49 - Oct 29 with 1799 viewsWestSussexBlue

This is not a dig but a genuine question, Big Rich Keogh was brought on in the 93rd minute to provide the experience to see the game out.
Should we have expected more and Two goals in the Minutes he was on the field has to be questioned?

It’s quite surprising that a team with Morsy, Keogh, and Ball in league 1 are conceding like we did today.

The only Muff in Town.

I can think of one thing Morsy did wrong in those final moments - driving forward with the ball and losing it instead of protecting possession and slowing the game down. The only things I think Keogh and Ball particularly did wrong were not to help in slowing the game down and ensuring we collectively as a team kept the ball.

Wasn't he brought on at Sheffield wednesday to help protect a lead in which we conceded a late equaliser? I'm not going to blane him for todays final 3 min siht show but for me taking off a midfielder for a defender only results in added defensive pressure.

It messes up with the defensive balance and results in the rest of the backline having to accomodate an extra player. Would prefer us to bring on an additional midfielder in those situations if anything, rather than a defender.

Keogh the individual isn’t the reason we didn’t see the game out properly. What about the other players higher up the pitch. What happened to controlled football from the back? What happened to Wing backs/full backs taking the ball higher up the pitch? What happened to the ability to stop balls coming into the box in the first place?

We should consider our defensive shape for those last minutes. Other teams have successfully kept us out with a low block. I’m not keen on the Keogh experiment when we have two central midfielders on yellow cards, how about adding a central midfielder. KVY should surely be the go to Burns swap if we are retaining the same shape in that situ.

Lots for KMcK to reflect upon there. Which he will and you expect us to learn quickly.

Yes. You should be expecting Baggott to play for Town, not Gillingham

Both goals came from extremely poor marking on the flanks. Blackett-Taylor was completely unmarked behind, I think it was Dom Ball, for the first. For the second Dobson made the run completely unmarked behind Leif Davis. Not sure who should have been tracking him but no one within yards and he ghosted in on the far post.

Not sure Keogh could have done anything about either of them but it's a possibility his introduction so late upset the balance.
