The linesman was from Essex, and a ref I know who officiates at a fairly decent level knows him.
Apparently the ref was the one who wanted to disallow the goal for handball, but the linesman said it definitely wasn't. The ref got the hump about it and said he was going to disallow the goal and told the linesman to put his flag up. |  |
