Interesting. Strange country.
Strange country for being multilingual? I think a lot of countries would see us as being strange for being so monolingual in our general outlook. Listening to Bruno Fernandes being asked to answer in English at a World Cup press conference was somewhat embarrassing.
With some dialects, there is an element of more than one language even within England. I can recall being taken aback the first time a Nottingham resident addressed me with "ayup me duck" and being asked if I wanted a cob with my fish and chips.
