I don't think you can, can you?

Cancel a contract on a player who obtained that injury whilst playing for the club?

Pretty sure the club has a responsibility to that player.

Loan terms vary, don't they? Some allow either party to break the loan, some only one side can.

Hayden Coulson and Louie Barry both went back in January last year, can't remember if we required the parent club's consent for those ones or not.

Fair point.

I thought the host club had a responsibility to treat the player for the loan term but you're probably right that terms will vary.

Dunno then.

Think there's a good chance Arsenal can unilaterally cancel the loan but we can't. They'd have had more leverage than us in negotiations.

I’m sure the two clubs will come to some kind of agreement. We can’t get anyone else in in January if we’ve got their injured player here on our books. He won’t be available for training until the season is almost over and being a hamstring issue there’s every chance he’ll get injured again, Hamstring injuries are notorious for lengthy rehab and re injury.

John-Jules is on the U21 list so doesn't stop us getting anyone else in.

Looks like he won’t be available until late March. Then he’ll need a few weeks to get match fit. It’s a shame, but we simply can’t afford to wait for him and he needs replaced in January.

Do we have a recall clause for Pigott? He may need to be drafted in if Ladapo is injured. We can’t get promoted with Kayden Jackson as or central striker.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

We can't recall Pigott - Crowley made a big thing about there being no recall option when the deal was done.

Surely, TJJ is better off getting treatment and doing rehab at Arsenal.

I can’t remember him pulling up at Charlton. Walked off the pitch fine. Surprised he’s done a hamstring to the extent that surgery was required.

"3-4 months" does hold out the possibility that it's a little earlier than Late March. His surgery was mid-November, so 3 months after that would be mid-February.

Agree that we'll look to replace him asap though, especially with Harness missing most of January.

We have no recall on Pigott and realistically we wouldn't exercise it if we did. He did little for us and he's done little for Portsmouth.
