I know what you mean - shocking oversight.

However, Football did not exist before 1992 - the year the Premier League started, so one could argue we've won nothing - except for that play-off final which is really a prize for the losers.

I guess they weren't sure anyone would understand Division 1. Maybe they should have gone with English Champions or Champions of England, but it should never have been left off entirely.
