Poor bloke.
There was a good piece on R5 this morning. Basically the conclusion was Qatar have taken FIFA for a ride here. By saying nothing about beer sales and rainbow symbols until the eve of the tournament i.e. until it's too late, they have not only told FIFA who is in charge, they are also demonstrating to the other nations in the region that they have taken on the west and got their way.
Being generous to the Qataris, this guy may well have had FIFA's ear until they realised they were absolutely unable to do anything and just walked away like the callous gits they are.

I find it odd that virtually every fan that has been interviewed in Qatar seems very happy with their experience and able to ignore the human rights and corruption issues. One positive that I take is that there has been no violence among fans. | | | |
