Watched it as it came out, really enjoyed as I could empathise with the fans as its not too dissimilar to what we've been through.
Funniest thing is though that my wife kept looking things up about them, Phil Parkinson, etc and now she constantly gets score updates from their matches on her phone!
I watched five or six episodes but I didn't really like it. Reynolds and McElhenney were fine and fairly humorous but I couldn't really stomach anyone else. Those "football translations" that would randomly pop up made me feel a bit queasy too!
That bloody song in one of the first few episodes got stuck in my head for ages as well. I had completely forgotten it until a few nights ago when I saw that terrible Welsh world cup programme on BBC and the band were on that giving it large.
It did occur to me that they might have looked at us but we were a bit too pricey.
But basically they’re doing a Gamechanger at a club like Wrexham that probably shouldn’t be in the National League. Even if they only get back into League Two then they’ll get their money back. The mistake would be thinking Wrexham can reach and compete in the Championship say. That would take 10s of millions and yet the only likely way from there is down.
I like the TV show overall. It does a pretty good job of helping people who know nothing about football while giving us domestic football fans a few decent insights.
The hardcore fans don’t come across all that well though. Particularly the guy who lives for Wrexham and also as a way to bond with his son — who looked a little traumatised by the whole thing.

You can't help but feel Mcelhenny is more invested emotionally than Ryan Reynolds. They're both very likeable and Reynolds is clearly someone who can't help himself but crack jokes at every turn. Wouldn't want that from my club's owner though.

Did enjoy the series though.
He is the one who wanted to buy it originally after his writer/producer got him hooked on football. Think he acknowledged he needed more capital, hence the Reynolds involvement.
