I watched the last 10 minutes, did well - very nearly an assist for the winner. Sky commentator gave player of match to someone else but pretty sure stadium announcer mentioned El Miz as getting it. Such forgotten talent as Jordan Roberts and Drinan on display too.

Watched most of the 2nd half. It was a dreadful match. El Miz didn't do anything wrong but was largely anonymous. That's not a criticism he just wasn't really in the game. He was neat and tidy but didn't see much of the ball and wasn't able to impact it. I'll balance that with both teams didn't have anyone particularly standing out in the match. Drinan came on and ran about but didn't get any service. L2 looked poor as they are 1st and 2nd. Roberts was also playing for Stevenage. Looked poor. Smyth and a lad that came on for Leyton Orient were probably the closest to doing much.

El Miz on 20:28 - Dec 27 with 1677 views | RedX | I watched a large part of the game which was short on quality tbf. He kept things simple but wasn’t up to much really. He got into some good positions but again with the lack of quality around him he didn’t receive the ball in those positions. He’s having an excellent season by all accounts.
El Miz on 20:48 - Dec 27 with 1636 views | Sharkey | I was at the Gillingham game yesterday and asked the guy I was with ( a neutral) to keep an eye on Baggott. At the end I asked him what he thought and he said ‘ well he sure as hell shouldn’t sign another contract for Ipswich ‘. Why not? ‘ because there’s no way he’ll be getting anywhere near the first team. ‘ I then asked ‘d’you think he’s as good as Frankie Kent was at that age?’ . ‘No, - but anyway Frankie Kent probably wouldn’t get in the Ipswich team. ‘ For what it’s worth, I thought Baggott looked pretty classy in his passing . But Akinde found it easy to ‘bully’ him, and he was muscled off the ball. He headed well wide from a corner late on and looked absolutely crestfallen, ( It was against his hometown club of course.) He was moved up front late on to try to salvage a point. Gillingham were generally dreadful, so he’ll be hoping reinforcements are on the way.

I can’t believe we are halfway through the league campaign and Gillingham have amassed a total of 6 goals!!! I had to look twice, thought I was seeing things!

I thought they had one penalty shout yesterday, but apart from that they never threatened at all. Callum Harriot should improve the scoring when he we gets up to match fitness. Listening to Harris, it’s clear he does not rate his squad at all and sees this week’s game against Sutton as one last outing before some real footballers arrive early in the new year. ( I do just wonder if Sears might go there.) | | | | Login to get fewer ads

From the outside, Harris seems to have done remarkably well to still be in a job. Feels like he's been moaning about his team forever, but it doesn't look a too dissimilar squad to the type Steve Evans had punching in the top half of L1.
