However, they incorrectly claim Leif Davis is on loan, and seems to be the local Peterborough paper going, "look what we're up against"

Would love to know how they can be so specific when making a simple error like that!

I mean, there is no way that figures like that could be taken from a computer game is there....no reputable news outlet would let that happen.

Imagine Broadhead is up there now too.

RIP Sir Bobby

Pigott is right, to be fair. He's on a wedge.

Is he?

Can't imagine he was on much at Wimbledon, was he that much in demand?!

Sunderland were interested, or if they weren't his agent did a good job of making it look like they were. Certainly had offers and he would've seen it as his big pay cheque moving on a free from Wimbledon. Certainly cashed his chips well as that figure is what I've heard from a reliable source.

Rememebr the gross outgoings for a player include:

Fee
Salary
Agent fee
Incentives
Signing Bonus

So for a free transfer there will be no fee but a sizable bonus or larger salary, but we would still probably be better off.

A large fee is normally off set over a period of time or tied to a factor such as international call up, appearances or sell on clause

An agents fee is very flexible and depends upon a number of things such as who the agency is etc

Salary is pro rata and normally an annual gross figure paid quarterly (converted onto weekly amounts by others for ease).

For example,

Piggot could possibly be on the following contract:

Signing bonus: £50k
Salary: £400k pa
Goal bonus: £200
Apeparanmce: post 25 - £10k; post 50 - £25k
Sell on fee: 20% paid to Wimbledon (although he wa sa free so no sign on fee)
