Especially the foreigners raised in different cultures who come over. Having had mates work/visit both Manc clubs for many years it sounds bloody horrific when you view it purely from a fan culture perspective.

I think time-wasting is a(n even) worse problem in the lower leagues than in the PL, and is really spoiling the spectacle.
Do the majority of supporters of PL teams on 15:24 - Jan 29 with 1243 views | Sawtrich | The financial realities of modern football are fairly depressing don't you think? Even clubs the size of Villa, Everton and Leeds are just clinging on in the Prem, hoping for a miracle breakthrough that gets them into the Champions League. The more I think about a European Super League the more I want the 'big clubs' to go their own way and we can have an English structure that is more of a level playing field and you've got a chance of winning without spending £30 million on a Brazilian striker or whatever.

Hard to see the endgame in the PL. Will there come a point when all 20 teams are owned by a sickeningly rich Saudi despot? Then what, nobody has a competitive advantage financially so does it go back to being the best managed teams are the successful ones?

Watching as a neutral, it's hard not to get excited about some of football we now get to see on an almost daily basis. Then I think about what life would be like as a Leicester fan. Won the league, which must have been sensational to be a part of. Then been on a bit of a European journey for a couple of years and won the Cup, still incredible. Now languishing near the bottom, their fans must be wondering what their future holds. Never likely to hit those heights again, needing to spend big to get themseves challenging for top 6 or run the risk of dropping out of the league at some point. Maybe the problems only set in when you start to get bored, like Stoke, Wigan or Sunderland. Is it different when you're in it? Do you still get that buzz that "yeah, this could be our year again". I think they probably do, even if it looks deluded from the outside. I think that probably applies to every club aside from those that just go up and down, endlessly collecting parachute payments. That must start to wear thin after a while. Other than that, I suppose hope springs eternal.
