IF we win our next two games (and obviously big if) 12:43 - Feb 1 with 1130 viewsNutkins_Return

Then the worst case scenario (imo Plymouth winning against Shef Wed and winning their next game the table would be:

Plymouth 67
Ipswich 60
Shef Wed 58 *with game in hand

Best case scenario (imo Shef Wed/Plymouth draw + Plymouth lose their game after):

Plymouth 62
Ipswich 60
Shef Wed 59 * with game in hand

Obviously other scenarios but I see this as best and worst IF we win our next two. Massive week ahead.

If we win on Saturday we are going to gain some ground on someone. Then Sheff Wed is massive.

Truly impaired.

We are only on 54 currently so max we can reach is 60.

But yes, two huge games coming up that likely make or break our season.

I don't think there's a bad result at Sheff Wed this weekend, there's merit in all of them. A draw and it's 2 points dished out rather than 3, so 1 point lost into oblivion, a Wednesday win would tighten it up and apply a bit of pressure on Plymouth who have a tough run of games and a history of choking. Plymouth win and they're truly motoring but gives us the chance to close the gap to Wednesday and go above them with a win against them at PR.

Very much this. Worry about us getting three points and if we do, their game is win win win.

How does our result in the Burnley game affect our League position?

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. Just thought it interesting to look at (on balance) the best and worst outcomes. A whole load of other other permutations in between. We can only focus on us. Just purely for those interested (arguments for other best case I'm sure as well).

Would be pleasantly surprised if we end up in 2nd after the next couple of games but a great opportunity to make up ground in a short space of time then kick on with a set of matches you could barely hand pick better in terms of games to rack up points in.

Wednesday have a lot to lose but could equally come out really strong as both us and Plymouth have a match where a win guarantees gaining points on at least one of the other top 3.

Think Wednesday are more likely to push on than Plymouth but the latter has a very comfortable run-in so all we can do is get a run of wins going which we haven't managed since the opening weeks of the season. Do what we need to do in that regard and we'll be very unlucky not to get autos.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
