Hotel for Cambridge? 16:59 - Feb 2 with 1500 viewsstrikalite

With Cambridge being so close, I'd have thought the players would have kept their home game routine going for this one and just travelled up on Saturday morning..

Why would they stay in a hotel on Friday night?

It’s an away game, don’t want to travel on the day of the game as can cause all sorts of issues.

Makes it easier to control feeding/sleeping etc prior to matchday. At some clubs the players go into a hotel for home games as well

I don't think we're quite at that level yet but I read somewhere that the British Cycling team with their marginal gains philosophy used to take their own mattresses and pillows with them.......

As well as a comfort thing, that was also a hygiene and cleanliness thing to avoid picking up colds etc that could potentially passed on via laundry items.

I doubt they go to Team Ineos levels (who do take their own mattresses and bed linen around with them), but yeah its an odd thing as very few people can sleep that well in a different bed in a hotel, than theyre used to for a one off night.

Exactly, they could sleep in their own bed, player roll call at 10.30-11am, make Cambridge by 12noon and still have three hours to kick off...

For 3 o’clock kick offs I believe they eat at 11.30
