Major disruption for those unaware. Lots of not overly clear tweets from Greater Anglia.

That’s mostly trains from Norwich/Cambridge/Peterborough I think.

Although trains from London have bus replacement.

[EDIT - just seen them mention a Shenfield to Norwich cancellation but doesn’t seem to be affected as bad as the Cambridge/Peterborough ones]

Going to inconvenience Norwich fans heading to Bristol as London bound trains only going as fas as Stowmarket. Presumably could impact on Wednesday fans deciding to take cross country route ilia Peterborough to avoid being bussed on London - Ipswich route.

Our own fans are used to travel disruption seems to have been going for years with no end in sight.

Latest info on National Rail website:

Lines have reopened following a fire near the railway at Needham Market. Trains running between Ipswich and Stowmarket may still be cancelled, delayed or revised whilst service recovers.

There is damage to the overhead wires meaning they can only diesel services through the area.

It’s because of a line side fire overnight. They haven’t mentioned anything about overhead wires being damaged, lines are open and trains are still running through just a reduced service.

GA's new trains are bi-modal so they can operate using electric or diesel.

They have here. Although services are still running between Ipswich and Stow so some of that is rubbish.

GA seem to have massive issues with reporting things clearly. I have no idea whether I'll be able to get a train down later as in one place it says they are terminating in Stow but elsewhere it says there are trains running through to Colchester.

Trains from Ingatestone seem to be running ok after the 10:32 departure, those beforehand were an utter mess.

I’m on that one so it’s definitely running.

Cheers mate, they've provided some clarity now. The remaining services are going to be rammed.

I just saw the reference to London and was in a hurry when I posted but, of course, other lines affected, some more so.
