Good on Edwards - what a beauty, great angle 00:11 - Mar 9 with 1567 viewsunstableblue

I had thought that Edwards free kick was somewhat assisted by a cold and fresh to the game keeper being somewhat slow…. But from this angle it’s clear it was sheer quality:

Great for his confidence, and can see why McKenna keeps giving the subs slot over such quality as Aluko

Watched the replay a few times, of the move that led to the fk.... Cracking through ball from Edwards to Clarke, as well..
And Clarke? Just wow. He really put the after burners on. Like a bloomin juggernaut. Ok, so against some tired legs perhaps, but that boy is rapid and powerful, with it.
Pleased for Edwards, as were all his team mates. There's some good unity in that squad, by the looks.

Edwards is proving himself to be an excellent squad player, I do really like him. He generally contributes when he gets on.

Sadly, compared with Harness (who I also really like) seems to be really struggling at the moment. Shame.

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

I think the bar has been raised, now. With the additions of Broadhead, Luongo, Clarke etc...Some of our players are kicking on, Ladapo and Chaplin for example. Whilst one or two are, perhaps, reflecting their ceiling...
I've always felt with Edwards, that we haven't seen the best from him. Consistently enough..But , with that, always felt that his ceiling is much higher, too...His cameo on Tuesday, will do him no harm. But there is still a bit of a question mark over him, imo. As he's been here a little while now, and hasn't quite nailed a shirt... The bar will only get higher with further recruitment in the Summer..Lets hope he can kick on to his full potential, and add some consistency. He's a very likeable lad..

Plymouth is a multi-season project with the continuity of footballing director and coach into manager over many seasons

Their core players improved over time, supplemented by loans

We’re still raising the bar and think McKennas getting where he wants to be

Harness, Evans, Donacien being great examples, really good players… same impact and level of quality as Broadhead, Luongo, and Clarke (albeit Clarke not finished article)… no, we’ve upgraded.

I still think McKenna needs a central mid who can take us to the next level… lunongo is definitely brilliant but can he stay fit??

Felt a bit for Harness on Tuesday.

Started in the left sided AM position. After 9 minutes the LB behind him and the striker in front of him - both of whom he needs to connect with in that role get swapped. 12 minutes later he gets moved to the central 10 position.

He had one awful pass where it went out play behind Jackson - a similiar thing happened in recent games a few times between Clarke and Burns and seemed to be a lack of communication.

He still managed to get off a decent headed chance and a shot from range - the former went narrowly over and the latter took a big deflection away from goal.

He doesn't seem to have quite hit his pre-injury levels of performance. Hopefully it will come back - while Edwards has some amazing natural ability I still think Harness fits our system better.
