Looks like the FA have stopped adding extra games on 22:39 - Mar 9 with 1097 views | monty_radio | Though in the pressurised world of football it gets harder to judge whether a manager's appeal is "frivolous", or more likely, desperate. All these Wednesday fans saying that Burns deserved a card based on footage showing some indeterminate kind of contact from behind from Burns as their player falls forwards demonstrates the blinkers that passion can bring. And, when it's an under-pressure manager involved, the stakes rise beyond his ability to determine what officialdom is likely to consider frivolous.

Didn't Nsiala get an extra one? Feels like others did too.

Nsiala getting an extra match was hardly a punishment on us...

Looks like the FA have stopped adding extra games on 11:39 - Mar 10 with 661 views | HighgateBlue | There were a number of Ipswich fans on the night who agreed with him that the keeper's challenge was not a red card (because it did not deny an obvious goal scoring opportunity). I think that being the case, it wasn't frivolous to make the argument. That rule is particularly difficult to pin down, and there are often reasonable disagreements. How good does a chance have to be before it becomes an obvious goalscoring opportunity? How close to the goal? How many defenders covering? The more people disagree, the harder it is to say that it's "obvious". In this case I would have given the red card, but I see the argument. I do think that there needs to be a sanction for appeals that were doomed to fail though, because we can't have every single decision being appealed on the off chance.
