Battle for sixth hots up today! Relevance to Town 11:08 - Mar 25 with 1985 views | unstableblue | Charlton v Wycombe Peterborough v Derby Portsmouth v Port Vale Bolton don’t play again till the 7th April… and have played a game more. Their fans rightly getting nervous. As should Derby. The game at the Posh is the game of the day… we get to play both these two teams away and soon… with sold out away ends. 6 points from both of those and I think we get automatic but is a very tall order. Derby have been wobbling.. and in some ways a loss to continue their bad form might set us up nicely for our crucial game at Pride Park next weekend! Or perhaps a draw. Either way it’s a tremendously exciting end to the League One season and we are right at the heart of it all. I agree Barnsley, Ipswich, Weds and Plymouth are going to slug it out. And I’m really not sure Plymouth are going to falter. I kind of want Derby to lose… head into Saturday a bag of nerves… and I think their squad is an older so may not finish season well?! I think the Barnsley game may well be a practice of the play off final.

On the other handed a wounded Derby off the back of 2 defeats might be a dangerous beast. Would be happy enough to see them win in hard fought tight encounter, maybe a red card and a knock or 2. If Peterborough go on a poor run and are out of playoff contention by the time we play them that might not be a bad thing.

Agree. Always fear a backlash. I've always preferred a side with something to play for though. Without pressure, teams can become fluent.

Let’s hope it continues into next Saturday.. Will crank up the pressure of rivals if we win at Pride Park Especially with Plymouth not playing till 7th April Only Barnsley playing in the week away at Exeter!

Yes they’ll also need a win and sides not sitting deep suit us

Not sure why people are worried about Portsmouth. They are improving and might be a contender next season but we should be able to beat them comfortably over two legs.

Exeter have the worst run-in of any team in the division. they play each of the top 7 sides in their remaining 9 matches.
