Just has a look of a man who doesn't want to be there and isn't enjoying it. Shame, he has so much power

Sounds like there's more excitement over the last bell? AJ just seems to want to do enough, almost to coast through. Ican't really see where he goes going forward, never going to beat either of those with belts and not sure either will be interested in facing him.

He got into it as the flight went on but closer than the judges had it for me. He'd doesn't beat Fury or Wilder on that showing

Logically, I’d agree with you, but I’d also take into consideration that AJ probably would be more switched on for those fights. Fury, I do feel would completely outbox him and probably toy with AJ for 12 rounds, but Wilder I’m less than convinced about. The man can punch yes, but can’t box. He really is quite limited. Before he fought Fury 3 times who had he fought that was a creditable opponent, an ageing Luis Ortiz?! He made heavy work of those contests. If Ortiz hadn’t run out of gas, the Cuban would’ve beaten him.

Great post. Wilder is incredibly dangerous and is great value to watch because you never know when that right hand is coming. But as you say, we don’t really know how good he is do we. Ajs boxing skills, his fundamentals have greatly improved. He’s not as rugged as he was pre Ruiz but he’s developing the jab really well. That’s a horrible fight for Wilder.

I think AJ is definitely a better boxer and he should beat Wilder but if he brings what he brought last night I don't think he does. Got hit too many times for me and if Wilder connects with one its a very different thing. As I say, the judges had it much wider than I did so maybe I'm being unfair but he was v rough last night for me. Appreciate he's got to adjust to a new trainer so maybe we'll see improvement.

No completely agree. I thought Aj won, but every single round was competitive, and whilst Franklin is not a tin can, you can’t be having close rounds like that with him if you have ambitions of winning a world title again. My biggest concern is that his last 5 performances are all completely different, seems stuck between about 10 styles. As you say though Derrick James is a great trainer and has improved so many fighters. Maybe needs another camp
