Highest points for a runner up? 19:42 - Apr 17 with 1172 viewsyorkshireblue

Does anyone know the highest points scored by runners up in the third tier?

I can only find info from when the football league rebranded it to League One - Blackburn got 96 in 2017/18

Not sure about the Runners-Up Points totals, but I looked over final tables from about the past 20 years recently and I don't think a 3rd placed team has ever had more than 90 points (3rd AND 4th might manage it this year...)

Be interesting to see what the highest points in 3rd has ever been too. I.e the highest points required to finish 2nd (assuming favourable GD) rather than highest achieved by 2nd. Not that it dictates this season in any way but I would think this year will likely surpass it.

I honestly have no idea, but whatever it is I think Plymouth will beat it this year.
