I initially thought "oh god, another boring 'celeb' show for the dumb" but after my mum praised it to the hilt we decided to give it a watch, and it was a genuinely interesting/entertaining experiment.
No spoilers, but Chris Eubank has serious issues... and Gazza (and blind comedian Chris McCausland) come out of it fantastically. Quite emotional actually. So good to see Gazza looking relatively well despite all he's been through (in some ways I'm surprised he's still alive). He seemed to be genuinely battling his demons, positively, in there. |  |

My Mrs was watching it and I sort of watched a bit because Eubank was on it. I thought Eubank simply got pissed off because he was surrounded by idiots (blind guy excepted). I love Gazza but all he was doing was talking sh1te.

I watched it thinking I should and would hate it. In the end it was brilliant, compelling trash TV. Whoever cast it deserves an award. It wouldn't have been half as good without Chris Mccausland, and Gazza must have given his public profile a massive boost. He came across as a broken, flawed human with a heart of gold. I wondered how that works as it's not really a challenge so much for him. But it was really interesting how the roles reversed from the real world, the playing field was levelled and he became the one they relied on. He's also the sensible one/voice of reason in there. | |
