My grandad was at this match. Note, the fans celebrated on the pitch. It wasn't an "invasion", everyone seemed happy.

I'm sure if fans went on the pitch on Saturday it would also mostly be good humoured.

However, the present situation has to be looked at in the light of the later era of hooliganism and more modern times when people go on the pitch to assault players or are prepared to do almost anything stupid to get film to post on the internet. People are probably more likely to be drunk, too, given changes in disposable income and social norms snce the early '60s. It's just not the same world any more.

Unfortunately, it's pretty common to the extent that we now have police sniffer dogs outside the NS toilets at half time.

Still, judging by my grandad, most the crowd will have been 5 or 6 pints to the good in 1962 ðŸ¤·â€â™€ï¸
