I'm a big TJJ fan, such a classy footballer, and someone who was a huge prospect as a youth player, you can see that talent when he plays. His injury record is obvs a concern, but I would love to see him back here next season |  |

A good listen. A few takeaways:
- Wants to "settle" - at Arsenal or somewhere else
- Has one year on his contract
- Discussion about his future will be had once Arsenal season is over
- Wants to listen to what Arsenal have to say
- Not in contact with Arteta
- There are a lot of young players ahead of him (Nketia, Balogun)
- He is back with U23s team and physios
- Really enjoyed being at Town, he felt welcomed and enjoyed being part of a family
- Town have kept in regular touch with him, which he appreciated
- Really positive about crowd and support - 25k+ in L1 etc.
- TJJ grew up a Liverpool fan
From my perspective:
- TJJ has had three bad injuries in the last two seasons, he has seen specialists to get his body right.
- I cannot see clubs taking a risk on him until convinced his injuries are behind him, especially as he would count as a senior player in the Prem or Champ
- I can see him leaving Arsenal this summer, and Town would be a potential option based on his loan experience [Post edited 22 May 2023 14:09]

The injuries thing is a risk, but it's also potentially a way of getting a player cheaper than you might otherwise have done.
About balance - How much does he cost relative to the resources you've got? How central does he then have to be to your squad strength?
Does the potential downside (where he continues getting injuries and occupies squad and budget space you need for someone else) outweigh the potential upside (he gets fit and excels and you have a wonderful young player on your hands)? |  |

Listening now. He does have a lot of love for itfc which is great to hear. Get the feeling he'll move this summer as he's unlikely to get the 3 year contract that he wants. Big risk with those injuries unless you can load it up with appearance bonuses, or take him on a six month till the January window with a view to buy. He'd definitely come back I'm sure. |  |

Possibly similar to Camara, I guess. We knew he was not fit but by all accounts we did not pay much for him.
TJJ mentioned in the interview that the injuries relate to how he uses his body, so is having to learn to use other muscles.
I suspect our Sport Sci folk would take a keen interest in this so see if this is something that can be quickly rectified or whether this is a long-term frailty issue. | | | |

I look at someone like Chuba Akpom, a beast at youth level who was often injured, hadn't really hit any real form and then just had a season where it all clicked. I like TJJs versatility as well, I liked him best as a number 9 but he can he play wide as well. He was such a quality player at youth levels, I would just love to see him in one injury free year. | |
