I suppose if we're being charitable, he is yet to outright fail as a manager and his teams have gently improved over his tenure. Took over MK Dons in 21st, finished 19th, then 13th. First season at Swansea 15th, second season 10th.
It's thin gruel though and his teams always look to me like they're playing a brand of possession-obsessed passing football that was progressive in like 2008 but is a bit old hat now. But I think that style is probably what gets him jobs from people who just see "attractive passing football" and think "yes, please!" |  |
