How good is this? Finished it yesterday. One of the best series I've ever seen. Absolutely gripping. Seasons 4 and 5 were definitely much weaker than the first 3 but still, what a journey.

But how did Ciro survive? No explanation other than the old guy 'helped him that night'. Are we not meant to question the realism of that part? [Post edited 30 May 2023 13:43]

No I didn't watch it. I was aware of it but I didn't realise until after I finished season 5 that it should be watched between 4 and 5. I'll make sure to watch it.

Ciro and Gennaro's relationship was amazing. They absolutely hated each other and wanted each other/each other's family dead, but at the same time absolutely loved each other.
At one point Gennaro has abandoned Ciro for life in a gulag cell, then at the end Ciro finally has Gennaro where he wants him and is debating whether to kill Azzurra and Pietro, then a few seconds later they are fighting it out desperately trying to save each other's lives, with Ciro then dying whilst crying over Gennaro's body.
It was such a sad and brilliant ending. | |

If you loved the show watch the film Chico. A bonus treat. It's very good. One of the best episodes in the whole series was when Ciro went onto foreign territory and the film is similar. | | | |
