Hear very little about him of late. Can only assume he is on his way out unless he is retained as third choice whilst Walton is out.

I don't think he'll be registered to play, and plan was to go out on loan - just guessing but imagine what it will mean is that he stays here until Walton fit enough as club likes 3 keepers and then will be going on a non league loan which can be done after the window shuts

Not necessarily - he has his role within the group - 4th choice goalkeeper.

Small salary, but appreciated enough that could come in if emergency requires that.

Who wants to be 4th choice keeper though if you can play games. Surely he goes out on loan eventually?

Not sure how the emergency loan rules work in the Championship but would he play even if we lost the first choice 3?

Truly impaired.

Any idea what the rule is if not registered but we went down to only 1 fit keeper. Assume emergency keeper rule kicks in and he could be registered?

I know you are quite in the know and also just wondered how often does he play for any of the other development teams for us. Just must be a frustrating career not to play. Especially as he's a pretty useful keeper from what I have seen.

I'm not privy to what was going on at the time, but he was barely getting a game in the National League South (I think), before we picked him back up as 3rd keeper, knowing full well he would be behind Walton and Hladky in the pecking order.

He has barely played for last few seasons as was the number 3 keeper which is a different role from an u21s keeper - but whether that benefits him long term who knows

Re emergency loans, we'd go and get someone more experienced - I think you can't register someone at club but can sign someone on loan

Bit of a nonsense that rule. Not sure why you wouldn't allow someone on the staff in GK position that possibility.

Can't be edit him from a playing position. I guess it must come down to getting paid a bit more than level he was at any maybe a bit more secure. He can probably stay in the role a decade. It's almost more of a specialist coaching support role. I genuinely wonder if he can play in some sort of sat team. Surely that would at least benefit game time.

McKenna: Keeper Hayes Could Require Surgery 4th Nov 2022 15:52
Town boss Kieran McKenna says third-choice keeper Nick Hayes is set to be out for a few months due to the injury which has led to the short-term signing of former Rochdale man Joel Coleman. 1

He was only brought back the season before last and had a serious injury which is why we brought in Coleman. The club thought enough of him to bring him back though, which suggests someone sees something in him.

I think the rumour was Hladky was off originally, but circumstances have since changed.
