Puppy Help 17:35 - Aug 28 with 1935 viewsOldTractor

Recently acquired a new labrador puppy - he is now 14 weeks old and vaccinated. As season ticket holders we travel up to each game from south Essex. Approx 6 hours is too long to leave him alone at home. Any recommendations as to any registered dog sitters or kennels etc in Ipswich area suitable to look after him on a Saturday - drop off around 1pm ish and collect straight after the game ?

Surely there would be loads of local families in your neighbourhood who would love to borrow a labrador puppy for a few hours. Try asking around.

Howe about you get a white stick and a hi viz jacket for the pup and take him as your 'helper dog'?

Could you not leave him at home with a dog walker going into your house around half way through the 6 hour period? Maybe not at 14 weeks but doable as the pup gets older

Aw, it’s a pity you don’t live in N. Yorkshire, my 5 month old Lab pup would love to play with yours (probably till they both fell asleep on their paws) and I’d have been delighted to look after him.

Remember that dog thefts are on the increase, esp of un-neutered pedigrees, so take care.

Rover.com could be good for you and offers all kinds of services from drop-ins to walking to overnight stays.

All the dog carers/walkers are vetted. One of my best friends works for them here in Canada and they love it. They have UK service too.
