I have no right expecting.... 07:45 - Oct 26 with 2885 views | MK1 | Ipswich to win every game. We have basically the same starting X1 that finished 2nd in league one last season. It is just bonkers. We sit second in the Championship with a 9 points gap to 3rd. Just stop and think about that for a second. 9 points and a game in hand to the side directly below us. What this Manager, his backroom staff and squad of players are doing just doesn't happen, especially to Ipswich. This really needs to be put into perspective. Basically the same squad that finish second in the league below, currently 2nd in the league above. Mind blowing stuff. Major achievement by the whole club for us to be where we are today. I am so glad our younger supporters finally have a club to be proud of. Us oldies were blessed and here's hoping the next generation have the same experience.

And we were delighted with our start last season! These really are special times, we've got a team and staff to be very proud of. Will be amazing if we can continue to ride this wave for a bit longer, we're at the stage where another 10 games averaging 2 points per game or above would put us in an incredible position at the halfway point of the season.

I have no right expecting.... on 08:34 - Oct 26 with 2631 views | BloomBlue | It truly is incredible stuff. I've seen a lot of amazing times watching Town, watching Sir Alf's team win Div1 was the best, but this team is getting there in my best times list. Mainly because of where it started from. Fans have been great so far, but there is a fine line between entitlement and overconfidence. I was a bit surprised before the game last night some fans were thinking a 4 or 5 nil win. With some thinking BC weren't anything special. Their form this season hasn't been too bad, they've been in the Champ a few seasons now which gives them Championship experience. Plus our first game after a 2 week break. Given everything I thought that was our best performance so far this season.

Exactly this. We are playing sides which by a whole have been in the Championship some time, yet we sit second after round 13 of the league season (with a game in hand). This isn't fluke time, this is real time. Truly amazing stuff. Teams will start to work us out and maybe the results will drop off a bit, but by that time, I think we will have a big enough cushion for at least top 6. What a job they are doing.

I have no right expecting.... on 09:35 - Oct 26 with 2442 views | _clive_baker_ | I think last season was a season of 3 thirds really. The final 3rd was a side that probably wins L1 with 100+ points over the course of a full season, we were better than anyone around us and probably a lot of those in the Championship. That's not to say we weren't strong from the start, but that evolution from Harness / Aluko, Evans, Donacien, Ladapo to Broadhead, Luongo, Clarke, Hirst was a huge step on once they got up to speed. The additions of Williams and Hutchinson have played no small part in our form this year too, again just that step up in quality. The progress has been pretty linear by way of the levels of our performances, we've definitely taken to the Championship unbelievably well but for the final 3 months of last season we were already demonstrating our readiness.

Norwich fans say we haven’t played anybody above us yet. Where as they’ve played a lot of teams above them. [Post edited 26 Oct 2023 9:39]

I have no right expecting.... on 09:40 - Oct 26 with 2409 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Whilst we finished second in League 1 it also has to be balanced against: our points total would normally have won that division by a long way; the second half of the season after we signed several of those players was a phenomenal run; under the current management every player improves so we have a better squad even with the same players; our form is very much based around a system of playing that every player knows their role in and less about individual players. But, yes, it does feel strange expecting to win nearly every match we go into, especially after the expectations of the past decade.

I have no right expecting.... on 09:42 - Oct 26 with 2396 views | FrimleyBlue | IMO and it showed, KM took a league 1 side, and in Jan made it a champ ready side. That 'run' from oct showed we lacked something, but that was resolved in one window. The town that finished the season was a champ side.

A very fair point. The league is so unfair on failing teams.

The evolution of quality in the players is shown well in Hladky. Last season he was well behind Walton but now he is playing at a level better than the best Walton did.

That is the correct wording. I believe they will win every game they play. Ridiculous really for this level.

If he carries on the way he is playing, will make the Championship team of the season. I have no problem with any of our squad coming into the starting X1. Fantastic position to be in.

I have no right expecting.... on 22:26 - Oct 26 with 1603 views | bluebudgie | I can see strong comparisons in regards to what Sir Alf achieved at Town. Alf was 35 ex Spurs and Town gave him his first managerial role. The Town was in the third division, Alf then probably created the biggest miracle the football world had seen within 6 years of taking over he had made Ipswich Town champions of England, all, because he took some very average players and along with his coaching and tactical genius, turned those players into world beaters. When the players reminisced about Alf as a manager they all said the same thing he made them believe they could beat anyone and they would have run through walls for him.
