Yesterday was just a bad day at the office for the players; don’t over analyse 11:25 - Dec 24 with 1193 views | unstableblue | We move on and see if we can bounce back against Leicester as we did after the West Brom loss. If the players had collectively played like they did at Boro and Watford, we have a good chance in the game. But unfortunately a large portion of the team failed to turn up and were out of form. Morsy, Luongo, Broadhead and Davis were poor. Broadhead has been in patchy form for some time. Can’t believe we even had a debate about it. But when our players are making that many unforced errors, gifting possession tens of times, then this McKenna team will obviously become ineffective. McKenna ball requires players to be on their game. The passing has to be crisp and accurate. And in the vast majority of games it is so and will continue to be. I actually thought for lots of the game we held our own despite the poor execution of basic passes. Burns was showing some quality. But surrounded by peers who were under performing. And of course with Leeds ridiculous squad quality and value, if you don’t turn up you get punished. If you make basic errors such Davis was doing, you leak goals. I mean a left side of Spence and Summerville! That’s ridiculous at this level. But again we lost the game, I don’t think Leeds were amazing. We just gifted them 3 goals. They were errors rather than brilliant play by the opposition. And the Chaplin foul that wasn’t given was a bit of a turning point. We were holding them out quite effectively despite playing poorly. And we went from being on the attack to being open. Chaplin hit the post as we reacted, and again that goes in the game changes. The one element of the game/performance to perhaps focus in on is our ability to get hurt by pacy/quality wingers. Which is a concern ahead of Leicester. I actually Clarke was OK yesterday, but did get exposed. We dust ourselves off, we regroup, and we have the joy and excitement of watching how our superb young manager reacts. Yesterday was just a bad day at the office for the players; don’t over analyse on 14:17 - Dec 24 with 1027 views | Radlett_blue | Disagree. While we kept our fair share of possession, we did very little with it, presumably because Leeds defenders are better than average. However, the big problem was when we lost the ball, Leeds counter attacked with pace & purpose. They also won most of the little battles for the ball in midfield, again probably because their players are better than hours. I don't accept that al large number of our team had an off day - they were simply up against better players. The reason we have more points than Leeds isn't because we have better players than them, it's because we've been more effective as a team so far this season. Leeds & Leicester have the best squads in this league so no real surprise Leeds have put 8 past us in 2 games. I will be interested to see if we adopt slightly different tactics against Leicester, who have a similarly strong squad.

Being fair, I think it was a bit of both. Coming up against better players and underperforming. WhoScored? certainly seems to suggest we were off our normal game. Davis' average match rating is 7.01, yesterday he got 4.36, most of our squad dropped half a rating point or more. We did the same against West Brom, but then beat four on the bounce. We'll come back and will play better against Leicester. If you're right about us still playing OK but simply coming up against better players then we shouldn't cope any better and should definitely lose right? https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1732030/LiveStatistics/England-Championship-20
