How on earth did the linesman and ref miss that?

On first viewing I don't blame the ref for that one as he didn't seem to have an angle to see how blatant it was, the linesman on the other hand seemed to have the perfect view.

Cant say if it is the same at this level, but at non league games we are often told that the lino has been told not to get involved and to leave everything but line calls to the ref.

Refs dont like being undermined by linesmen. Gives them a hard decision to make if they dont agree with it.

I think you're right. They never seem to get involved in anything.

Yep. That happens all the way up to CL level.

Though (thank goodness) the linesman got involved for their second offside.
