BBC reporting Spurs agreed a £65M deal with Bournemouth for Solanke. Really shows how much you have to spend to get a decent English striker! Maybe with the service at Spurs he could be prolific but puts into perspective what we would have to spend for a proven goalscorer!

Never have i watched Solanke and thought he is worth that much.

Expect Bournemouth to be in for Sargent.

He is worth at least 3/4's of that. A top striker at that level and worth around the £50M mark in today's market.

Didn't realise he got 19 goals. At £50M would say thats high but maybe OK given he does have PL goals but £65M seems steep to me.

Just because those are going rates, doesn’t mean he’s worth it. Stupid money in an increasingly corrupt game.

£65m is the release clause, not how much he is worth.

Chelsea walked away a few weeks back when they were told the price and it looked like he’d stay at Bournemouth.

I think it shows how desperate Spurs are to pay that sum on a player who’s had one good season after a number of false starts in football.

It’s a gamble for Spurs and he’s supposedly an Arsenal fan so expect massive flouncing if he doesn’t deliver.
