Exeter 15:48 - Aug 19 with 1493 views | flykickingbybgunn | I am told, but I have not checked, that 7 of the team that played Exeter at the end of the 22/23 season were in the team last Saturday. The one that ran Liverpool ragged for 45 minutes. This is a testimony to KMcK and the individual players involved. Well done them.

That's been evident as we've hopped up the leagues and how good an account of ourselves we gave on Saturday. Of course quality tends to show through when the gap is as vast as it is against sides like Liverpool. They bring on players that would walk into our side, we bring on players that probably wouldn't get near their 3rd team. The trick is how much we can upgrade the quality of the water over the next couple of weeks to get a finer wine out of.

Insane really looking at that because realistically had Clarke, Broadhead and Hirst all been fit they may well have started on Saturday, or at least come on as subs!

Given what we did, I think it’d be better described as a Championship quality side playing in L1 when we destroyed Exeter. But that’s being picky and takes nothing away from the point that seven players who played in L1 (plus those who would have but for injury) were facing Liverpool on Saturday. The scale of the achievement of last season really hit home when they walked out on Saturday.
