2 weeks ago I would have confidently said that Cajuste would come in alongside Philips, but he wasn't even in the matchday squad to face Villa on Sunday, despite them having a very strong midfield to combat against.
Obviously Philips plays, & hopefully will be up to speed for completing the 90+ minutes by then; but with the next run of games so important for us in looking for at least 1 win, we will need a strong midfield unit.
Taylor has been decent when coming on for the last 20 minutes or so, & seems to have adapted his game somewhat for the PL, but I would worry about starting him in a new partnership, against Everton or at Brentford.
We know what Luongo can do & he would certainly put himself about & give his all for 65 minutes if he got the nod, but Cajuste just has that extra bit of quality on the ball & the strength/presence to play at this level, IMO.
Why wasn't he in the squad for Villa though? No mention of an injury, that I've seen. Is there an issue I wonder. |  | | |  |

Its a tricky one but i would be very worried if we are forced to start Mass in this league as i think 30 minutes or so is his maximum at this level . First game of the season i know but after a good start he was struggling before half time against Liverpool . |  | | |

We ended the game with Taylor and Luongo and were well on top.
I as many others said last season Taylor has all the attributes to be a lower end premier player. |  | | |

I wouldn't have a problem with Taylor starting.
I wouldn't have a problem with Luongo starting.
I wouldn't have a problem with Cajuste starting.
So, basically what I am saying is, any one of those 3 are more than capable of playing at this level and none would let us down. We are so lucky to have such great options in such a critical department of the game. |  |

We don't know unless we give him a turn out. His legs might be suspect, but he's got the experience and his game is more attuned to Morsy's. If he can do 60 mins, then it's sub time with Taylor.
It's great that Mass is getting PL mins, but do wonder if he's one we'll look to replace in January and Taylor will be above him in the pecking order. Amazing that he was 30, not playing at Boro and we got him on a free dropping down to the third tier.... and now he's in the PL. | | | |
