Lights in West Stand Upper Tier - Churchmans side. 19:52 - Oct 19 with 1504 views | DublinBlue84 | Can someone explain to me why they have installed seemingly the world's most powerful LED lights in the back half of the stand and have them literally pointing directly into the eyes of the fans? I was told by a female steward they couldn't turn them off, but they went off after about 60 minutes (to ironic cheers). There was a quite tall guy near me wearing glasses a row behind me who said the glare was terrible from them when looking to the North End and whilst I didn't find it terrible myself when sitting it was certainly annoying when I stood up and felt if I stood in the wrong position it was like having an optician shining a light into my eyes. Why have they been installed and why are they on during a match? I understand the new lights they've put on the inside roof of the stand facing down, but why literally are there massive, powerful LED lights literally shining directly in supporters eyes? Ohhhh Frimmers bless you. He's not talking about the flood lights but those above the seating.

It's not the floodlights, there's been some new ones installed, both towards the front of the stand on the ceiling (which point downwards and are okay) and ones on the beams further back, so anyone from about row O or backwards literally has a light beaming at them. I can understand extra lights to light the pitch and the front of the stand, but why have so strong lights that literally point directly towards fans in the seating areas whilst a match is in progress.

It was the same on the other side..... on 20:05 - Oct 19 with 1353 views | Bloots | ....there was one above the away fans . Fooking iritating it was too. It'll be some ridiculous health & safety issue no doubt. I may write a letter, that'll sort it.

I’d let the club know, they may have had to install extra lighting for crowd safety etc but should surely only be on at times of crowd movement - 5 mins before HT/FT etc.

That's what I thought, but the strange thing is at half time / full time the old not so bright, off-white lights for that purpose, which are still in SITU came on, but they not bright enough to be a hinderance.

they might be going though, as I noticed theyve installed a bunch of similar stupidly big bright floodlights in Sir Alf upper. fortunately ours werent on till the last 5mins of the game, I imagine theyll become very annoying for night time games.
