Thing that worries me most, lack of cohesion 18:45 - Oct 19 with 1648 viewsJimmy86

What worries me most, is that at times today we looked as if we had never played together before, despite longer time on the training pitch... We didn't lay a glove on Everton today and made them look a hell of a lot better than they actually are..

Had we got one back, I think they'd have crumbled.. but we played into their hands today and they didn't even have to work for it..

Also worrying, was the reaction to the goals.. players gesticulating to each other and arguing.. that's rarely happened and is not a good look..

Thought Everton today was winnable, if we'd played like we did against Villa... But we made them look like world beaters

Well yeah, lots of new signings. We all saw what happened with Paul Cook and how long that took to correct. The injuries clearly not helping either.

Poll: Has our squad been improved this summer?

Thing is, our style of play that was so successful last 2 seasons has gone out the window... Know we have to adapt to the prem, but for all those moaning about Burns at the game today, we didn't once play the ball inside his fullback... We started to play Omari in behind in the 2nd half, but to no avail..

If there is a concern this early, it is the demeanour of the guys when behind and a stark contrast to when we went down last season especially at the Southampton match. I remember Chaplin geeing the guys up when we dropped to 1-2 and the response was electric.

Agreed, the reaction to conceding the goals today was poor, players getting on at each other and I've rarely seen that side to us... Morsy was digging out Hutch for something today..

Poor day at the office, but we really made Everton looked like world beaters... We looked more like panel beaters..

Omari perks up when Chaplin comes on and it seems like Chaplin is mentoring him through the game & allowing him more freedom as he ties up more players in the middle

Chaplin really needs to come back into the side, he looks really up for it

Tuanzebe has been a big loss but the positivity of Clarke gave us a better outlet down the right

I'm worried how vulnerable we look when caught on the break

Everton going forward are far from spectacular but do have various assets which are Kryptonite for us, they're a big side, fairly direct and effective at what they do

I know they had a poor start but as a part of that poor start, they had actually played quite well for long parts of those games before collapsing at the end. I fear today is a case of them getting it right and ironing out those earlier mistakes.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

We started moving the ball a lot quicker when Chappers and Harry came on, Harry's first instinct when he had the ball was fire it out to Hutch.

I think that's because Chaplin is a better 10 at the moment then Hutchinson. Chaplin's movement was pulling an Everton defender out of the line, creating space which started to drag other Everton defenders across and that gave Hutch more space.

That was one of the biggest problems today, our build up play was so slow and ponderous... When Muric did claim the ball and the wingers broke, we held on to the ball and didn't distribute it quickly enough!

Lot of the time there is no movement off the ball when we do have it... Look completely different, compared to last season... Haven't quite nailed down our style of play yet, in the prem

Ie a good old partnership worked well - I really think we should stick with this for a bit where possible to try & gain some stability, also starting H. Clarke on the right (if fit enough).

Also retain the old partnership of Woolfy-Cam while Greaves is out injured? And Morsy-Taylor?
