Call it fertiliser being unloaded in a port where fertiliser is frequently unloaded and it seems less scary.

Especially as there’s a shortage of fertiliser in this country.

There's not a lot of anything usually unloaded in Yarmouth. The outer harbour built there had pretty much no ships go into it. I suspect Yarmouth was picked for that very reason.

My mate was saying there was a comedian at Latitude that was very sneery to Yarmouth people, especially with the Reform vote.

But as me and him grew up the other side of the water, and both Labour voters, we are pretty fed up with that attitude. Places shouldn't get abandoned. Its no wonder that the locals left get fed up., They tend to be the less bright and less affluent otherwise they would have left as well, and they just get left with few decent jobs, higher unemployment and an area where migrants are sent disproportionally.

They want to level up the North but Manchester and Liverpool are vibrant, thriving paradises in comparison.

The local MP is doing it himself, judging by his enthusiasm.

I have lived in Yarmouth about the same amount of time as I lived in Clacton, and I know which is the better place. I know, it's a pretty low bar, right?

I get it of course, Yarmouth is in Noorfolk, so deserves some of the abuse it gets, but it's a pretty decent place in the summertime - if the weather's good!

Not knocking Yarmouth, I have ancestors from there.
