This was probably the one we’d most likely lose, and a draw wouldn’t have been out of the question. Forest just showed the difference, a Prem squad and a Prem manager and we ran them close enough at times. But our squad looks so thin compared to theirs.

No idea if the penalty was one or not. The ref seemed to give everything today so when the Forest lad went down it seemed only VAR might save us for once. I was even clinging to the hope Muric might save it given the game he had. But if that’s the decider, we need to make sure we aren’t 85-90% every game and still lose. Beat Palace and we put that to bed.

I thought the game was really told by the subs. The Clarkes were contrasting in fortune. Harry probably didn’t expect to come in and when he did, everything seemed not to come off. Falling over when he needed to clear it, giving Burns no chance when he did get it away. Jack as it happens, did everything but pull the trigger had he done so, he could have buried it.

Forest are a proper club, but they were pretty silent all game. Chirp up for the big song and celebrate when they score, but beyond that nothing like the away end. It’s disappointing to think they might be a bit Teemu Liverpool as a place to visit.

Really liked Cajuste but like the whole team he seemed to struggle beyond the 60-70 min mark. When Nuno tweaked it they looked really solid, I wondered if we needed a bit of luck for once but it never looked likely.

Harry Clarke's distribution was terrible. Looks like he will be in on Tuesday though. Jack Clarke probably should’ve scored at least three this season. Had he done so, we would bexseeing a very different player. Some nice touches from Broadhead. Muric looking very solid. Cajuste excellent but not got 90 minutes yet. We miss Hirst when Delap is goosed.

It might be a step too far too soon for some of these lads. We’ve signed young players with no PL experience, so I suppose we can’t expect them all to suddenly look at home. We’ll have hell of a team if and when they settle and show what they can do. Let’s hope we’ll be in the league long enough to see that happen. That’s the biggest difference between us now and Burley’s team really - they were mostly seasoned pros by then in their mid-20s upwards with lots of game time behind them.

I thought their fans were the loudest I’d heard all season

I said the same about Hirst - changing the three behind Delap was good, but showed how makeshift we are.

We finished the game with 9 who played in the Championship last season and 2 who got relegated from the Prem. And 6 of the 9 played in league one. We’re very close but so hard against the extra quality of these prem squads.

I thought they were quiet. At one point in the 1st half I was amazed to be able to hear McKenna’s shouting and I was the other side of the goal from him.

Not feeling confident about Harry Clarke having to face Eberechi Eze. We've seen him struggle against top wingers in the past. I wonder if KMC will go O'Shea at RB and Greaves and Burgess at CB.

On the radio they didn't even sound that loud when they scored.
