Two games where it’s hard to judge too much 08:31 - Jan 26 with 936 viewstextbackup

Based on the oppositions quality.

But the last couple of games (IMO) have shown us to look like a bunch of little boys. There is no reason why we can’t match teams for energy and aggression, despite the huge gulf in quality. And that’s been really disappointing to watch.

Really concerned about Omari too if I’m honest, he’s played a lot of football this season, but his decision making really confuses me. liverpools first goal for example, he picks it up, and we have 2/3 players making runs to the left, Omari runs down a blind alley to the right into 3 Liverpool defenders, gets the ball so easily taken from him, they go on to score.

Really not sure adding another small and weak guy (in Philogene) will help us with the huge physical challenge we face weekly. Especially if they both play at the same time.

On the plus side Broadhead and Hirst looked sharp when they came on, with Broadhead being someone I’d 100% be starting in the must win game that is Southampton.

Another plus was that Townsend impressed.

Hutch has frustrated me for a little while now. Has obvious ability and huge potential, but the decision making and ball retention can be off.

It'll come with experience.

Also, when Cajuste doesn't play, our midfield becomes safe shufflers. Morsy can't maraud like he did in the league below and Phillips seems to be coasting a little bit.

After saying it's hard to judge too much, there's an awful lot of judgement there.

Bunch of little boys is a bit of an exaggeration isn't it?

I’m judging on games of late, not just these two.

And no, Omari and philogene looked like little boys against the huge athletic men they faced.

....playing 3 behind Delap (or Hirst, or a new boy) ASAP.

Not having a natural 10 to link up the play has been an issue and having 2 relatively inexperienced youngsters in there is putting too much pressure on them while they are still learning.

KM is on record in saying that he sees Omari as a 10, but his decision making isn't currently at a level where he can do that in the Prem. He needs to be shifted out wide right again where his attacking responsibilities are simpler and more "individual".

Enciso looks a more likely 10 (although I quite like Taylor there) and then Broadhead/Jaden/SS/Clarke can fight for the "left 10" job.

Pretty obvious to me.
